Aha! to OnePlan Integration

How to Use OnePlan with Aha! 

This integration focuses on synchronizing data between OnePlan and Aha!.  Initiatives and Workspaces in Aha can be imported into OnePlan as plan level items, whereas Epics and Features can be brought into OnePlans’ Work Plan – Backlogs section as items.

Integration Setup

OnePlan

To complete the OnePlan setup, you need to be an admin (user with Owner permissions) in OnePlan.

1. Log into your OnePlan group using your OnePlan login credentials.  
2. Access the Admin pages by clicking on the Settings (gear) icon at the top right of the browser.
3. Navigate to the Integration section in the left-hand navigation panel. 
4. Next to the Authentication Keys section click the + Add Key button.
5. Provide a descriptive name and the Authentication Key to denote its purpose, then click ADD.
6. Store the OnePlan group name and the Authentication Key securely. This grants access to your OnePlan group for any program. Please note that the key will no longer be visible after the page is refreshed. 

Note: It's recommended to generate a new authentication key for every integration and assign a descriptive name to each key, enabling clear association with its corresponding integration. This practice enhances security, simplifies management, and facilitates easier tracking and troubleshooting.

OneConnect Setup Process

To complete the OneConnect setup, you need to have Administrator or Editor privileges in the OneConnect group you wish to set the integration up in.

1. Go to https://my.oneconnect.ai (or https://eu.oneconnect.ai for European customers utilizing eu.oneplan.ai)
2. Navigate to Aha! to OnePlan. Click Configure.
   
   

OnePlan Connector

1. Group Name
   • Input the name of the OnePlan Group name you intend to integrate with.
2. Authentication Key
   • Paste the generated OnePlan Authentication Key obtained from OnePlan.
     
3. Additional Options
   • Expand the section for additional configuration options.
4. (Optional) Alternate OnePlan Environment URL
   • If using an environment other than the default (https://my.oneplan.ai), select the appropriae URL from the available options:
     • https://au.oneplan.ai
     • https://ca.oneplan.ai
     • https://eu.oneplan.ai
5. (Optional) OnePlan Default Plan Type
   • Specify a default plan type if the integration doesn't automatically provide a plan type for plan-level work items in OnePlan. Enter a single value for this purpose.
6. Test Connection
   • Click Test to verify the correctness of the connection settings to OnePlan. 
   • A notification indicating Connected Successfully should appear in the top-right corner of the browser upon successful testing.
7. Save Changes
   
   • After verifying the connection, click Save to retain the configured settings.

Aha! Section

1. Aha! URL
   • Enter the Aha! URL (e.g., https://{organization}.aha.io).
2. Aha! API Key
   • Enter the key to the organization that will be integrating into OnePlan. A single value should be entered.
     
3. Aha! Plan Entity Type(s) (Comma Separated)
   • Enter the type(s) of Aha! entities you would like to be brought in as Plans in OnePlan. Workspaces, Initiatives, and Epics are the only supported entities for Plans.
4. Aha! Backlog Entity Type(s) (Comma Separated)
   • Enter the type(s) of Aha! entities you would like to be brought in as backlog level items in OnePlan. Epics and Features are the only supported entities for the Backlog. 
5. Aha! Feature Template (Key)
   • Enter the key to a Feature in Aha!
6. Aha! Epic Template (Key)
   • Enter the key to a Feature in Aha!
7. Aha! Workspace Template (Key)
   • Enter the key to a Feature in Aha!
8. Aha! Initiative Template (Key)
   • Enter the key to a Feature in Aha!

Default Scheduled Strategies

The following scheduled jobs are installed by default:

OnePlanUpdate

Publish data from Aha! to OnePlan.

This strategy will bring in all listed Aha item types (or equivalent work item type) and their associated work item types into OnePlan. It is recommended that a filter be put in place to limit what work item types are desired to be brought over.

Generate an Aha! API Key

1. Log into Aha!.
2. Go to Settings (gear icon in top right) > Personal.
3. Click Developer (Left Column).
4. Click Generate API key.
5. Give the API key a Name.
6. Click Generate API key in the pop-up window.

Locate Aha! Entity Keys 

Features and Epics

1. Click on a feature/epic to open its details.
2. At the top next to the title of feature/epic is the key.
   
3. The key can also be found in the board view above the name of the feature/epic.
   

Initiatives

1. Click on an Initiative.
2. At the top above the name of the initiative is the key.
   

Workspace

1. Click on Setting > Personal.
2. Click on Workspaces.
3. To the left of the name of your workspaces in parentheses is the key.
