Comments in OnePlan

  • Updated

This article explains how comments function in OnePlan.

The comments feature in OnePlan makes collaboration on your projects easy and transparent. You can make comments in several different locations throughout OnePlan, whether on a plan, a task, or even a timesheet item.

Make a Comment

To add a comment to a task in the Work Plan, click the Comment icon next to the task. This will open the Comments interface. Enter your comment into the text box and press Enter on your keyboard to submit the comment.

The Comment icon will turn blue when there is a comment on a task. Click on the blue Comment icon to view the comment thread for the task.

Comment Notifications

Once you press Enter and submit your comment, notifications of the comment will be sent to the following people:

  • Users assigned to the work item.

  • Users who have contributed to the comment thread.

  • Plan Owners.

These individuals will receive a notification of the comment in the following locations:

  • In an email.

Note

Please keep in mind that any user with access to any area where you can make comments will be able to view any comment thread in that area (i.e. if they have access to a Work Plan, they can view all comment threads in that Work Plan). However, only those contributing to a comment thread and plan owners will receive notifications when a new comment is added. Once you add a comment to a comment thread, you will begin receiving notifications when that thread is updated.
