This page allows you to schedule when an integration strategy runs. Some integrations come with pre-set schedules, while others require you to set the strategy up manually. To check which scheduling options are available for your integration visit the integration page.

In addition to scheduling, this page also covers all strategy settings an dhow to trigger a strategy manually (event-based execution).

Editing a Strategy Schedule

The options for editing a strategy depend on your integration license.

How to Edit a Strategy

  1. Click the Pencil Icon next to the strategy you want to edit.
  2. Update the settings as needed.
  3. Click Save when you're done.

General

  • Enable/Disable Strategy -  Toggle the strategy on or off. Disabling prevents the strategy from running as a scheduled item and as an event.

Properties

  • Schedule Type- Choose how often the strategy should run.

    • Hourly - Select which Days of the Week the strategy should run hourly.

    • Daily - Select the Days of the Week, Time(s) of Day, and Minutes after the Hour (in 15 minute increments).

    • Monthly - Select the Day of the Month and Time(s) of Day for execution.

    • None - The strategy will not run on a set schedule, but you can still:

      • Manually trigger the strategy at any time using the at-will execution option.
      • Execute a single item event by providing an Item ID.
  • Days of Week -Specify which days the strategy should run.

  • Times of Day -Set the time(s) for execution.

    • While you can set specific times for execution, the strategy may not start immediately if the queue is full. In such cases, there may be a slight delay before it begins processing.
  • Time Zone -Define which time zone to use.

Deltas (Data Sync Options)

  • Delta Type - Choose between:

    • Full sync - Processes all data, regardless of changes.

      • This may significantly increase the amount of data being processed and will also increase the amount of time it takes for the strategy to complete.
    • Incremental sync - Only syncs new or updated data since the last run. Incremental syncs may apply to specific tables of data. Please review your integrations information to know how incremental syncs may affect your strategy.

  • Deltas Range - Defines how far back the system looks for changes during an incremental sync. Options include:

    • Last Run (Default) - Only syncs data modified since the last successful run.
    • Day - Syncs data from the past day. Allows you to set a specific Time of Day
    • Week - Syncs data from the past week. Allows you to set a specific Day of the Week and a Time of Day.
    • Month - Syncs data from the past month. Allows you to set a specific Day of the Month and Time of Day.
    • Custom (Specify) - Allows you to set a custom date for data retrieval.
    • Hours - Syncs data from the past Number of Hours (i.e., 5 hours ago).
    • Days - Sync data from the past Number of Days at the Time of Day (i.e., 3 days ago at 12AM).
    • Weeks - Syncs data from the past Number of Weeks from a specific Time of Day (i.e., 2 weeks ago at 1PM).
    • Months - Syncs data from the past specified Number of Months and allows you to set a Time of Day.

Advanced

  • Power Automate Flow URL: Enter a URL for a Power Automate Flow to trigger the strategy completes. Applies to when the strategy state is Success or is Success with Exceptions.
  • Automatic Retry: Available only for strategies set to run Daily or Monthly with a single Time(s) of day specified. It works for bulk-processing strategies (i.e. tabular data integrations) but not for itemized strategies (i.e. OnePlanUpdate).

Apply Filters to the Schedule

Filters help control what data is processed. If you use filters, the field being filtered must be mapped in the Field Mappings section. To learn more, check out the Understanding Strategy Filters page.

Checking Logs for Strategy Runs

Locations for viewing logs depends on whether the strategy was triggered as an event (using an ID), or as a scheduled/at-will execution:

  • For Events (triggered using an ID):
    • Navigate to the Logs dropdown, in the main menu.
    • Select Events
    • Select the Strategy Name of the logs to be reviewed.
  • For Scheduled Strategies & At-Will Execution (without using an ID): Logs can be found in two locations:
    • On the Schedules page, clicking on the Logs Icon next to the strategy, view the logs by clicking Show.
    • In the Logs dropdown , selecting Schedules. Select the Strategy name to be reviewed.

Running a Strategy Manually (At-Will Execution)

To run a strategy immediately:

  1. Strategy must be Enabled
  2. Click on the Lightning Icon next to the strategy.
  3. Click Execute.

Running an Event

To run the strategy for a single item (Event):

  • In OneConnect:
    • Click the Lightning Icon
    • Enter the ID in the text box.
    • Click Execute
  • In OnePlan:
    • Click on the Integration Icon next to the Plan Name, or within the Work Plan of a connected plan. This will open the Connected Systems window.
    • Click either Import or Export to trigger the corresponding strategy for that specific plan.

Removing a Strategy from the Schedule

To remove a strategy from the schedule (this does not delete the strategy from the integration):

  1. Click the Trash Icon next to the strategy.
  2. Confirm the action of removing the strategy from the page.

Strategies can be re-added to the page at any time, however any filters that were once applied to the strategy will be lost.
