Enable Advanced Portfolio Filtering

  • Updated

This article explains how to enable the Advanced Portfolio Filtering feature released in May 2024.

OnePlan released improved Portfolio FIltering capabilities in our May 2024 release.  Additional capabilities including paging and multi-grouping will be added in the July 2024 release. These improvements included a new Portfolio Filtering interface, as well as a Portfolio-level search. If you have a OnePlan environment that was configured before the September 2024 release, the new filtering capabilities will not be turned on automatically, and you will need to enable them. You will know that your group is not using the new filtering capabilities if you see the Legacy Filters warning in the My Portfolio area.

Note

Any OnePlan environments created after the September 20, 2024 release will have advanced Portfolio filtering enabled by default.

Advanced Filtering Feature Rollout Schedule

  • Starting May 4th, 2024, you'll have the option to enable the new portfolio plan features listed above. If not enabled by November 29th, 2024, you'll be automatically upgraded to the new functionality.
  • To enable, a OnePlan Owner should navigate to portfolio plan settings, and additional options, and click the "enable" button. Once enabled, this capability cannot be turned off as new filter and view settings are continuously added.
  • The new filters function differently from the old ones, potentially causing initial user confusion. Views with filters applied will load in a flat list by default, not a hierarchy.
  • You can switch your view to "filter top level only" to display a hierarchy. When using the "filter top level only" option, lower-level plans in your hierarchy will not be affected by filters. If a parent plan is filtered out, its child plans will not show.
  • You can adjust views to simulate hierarchies by changing the view to a lower-level plan type and grouping by the plan type above it. Once enabled, you can adjust any desired view settings according to your preferences.
  • Using pre-filters can improve the experience as well. For example, you can create a pre filter to only show "Active" plans and then remove filters from views. This will load a hierarchical view that only shows active plans.
  • We advise testing this capability in a test or trial group before full implementation. Prepare for enhanced functionality and ensure a smooth transition with these guidelines.
