Understanding Portfolio Pre-Filters in OnePlan

  • Updated

What are Pre-Filters?

Pre-filters are settings that control which data loads into a Portfolio Area before you even start working. They operate on the server side, meaning they filter data before it reaches your screen. This helps improve performance, especially when large amounts of data are involved.

Portfolio-Level Pre-Filters

At the portfolio level, pre-filters only apply to plan types that belong to the current portfolio. This avoids filtering out unrelated plans and keeps your portfolio view accurate and meaningful.

Why Use Pre-Filters?

  • Performance Boost: By reducing the amount of data loaded, pages open faster and run more smoothly.
  • Focused Views: You only see the plans that matter to you, based on the filter criteria.

Example Scenario

If your organization uses a Business Unit pre-filter, you’ll only see plans that belong to the Business Unit you select. This ensures you’re working with relevant data and not sifting through unrelated plans.
