ServiceNow to OnePlan Integration - Default Field Mappings and Scheduled Strategies

This article details the default field mappings and scheduled strategies installed with the ServiceNow to OnePlan integration.

Default Field Mappings

Currently, we do not have default field mappings for this integration.

All possible field names for the tables will appear when selecting the dropdown list on either side, select the fields desired to be mapped to, then click on the blue plus button on the right.

To change the direction of the field mappings, click on the arrows between the fields until the desired direction has appeared.

Task-Level Imports Require a Plan Selection field in ServiceNow

When importing ServiceNow objects at the task level into OnePlan, you must configure an additional custom field in ServiceNow to indicate the destination OnePlan plan for each task, this field must be called "Project Number" in ServiceNow.

Within the OneConnect field mappings page, inside the TaskObjects - Tasks table map the dedicated ServiceNow field to the OnePlan Plan Id field. 

Default Scheduled Jobs

There are no scheduled strategies automatically set up by default.

To add a schedule, click Add Schedule, choose the strategy desired, and then fill out the appropriate information. Click Save.

Available Strategies

ServiceNowToOnePlan

The ServiceNowToOnePlan strategy brings in items from ServiceNow into OnePlan as a plan level item. The items being brought in will be from the table that was listed in the ServiceNow Table: Plans field when setting up the integration.

SyncOnePlanToServiceNow

The SyncOnePlanToServiceNow strategy will grab all tasks created within OnePlan (tasks are in the Work Plan – Schedule section) and move those work items to ServiceNow table listed in the ServiceNow Table: Tasks field.

Important

It is highly recommended that there is a field mapping from ServiceNow to the OnePlan Plan Id (that is bidirectional), this will allow the SyncServiceNowToOnePlan to run.

 

SyncServiceNowToOnePlan

The SyncServiceNowToOnePlan strategy will bring in any list item within the ServiceNow table listed as the ServiceNow Table. This is a plan level strategy.

 

SyncServiceNowToOnePlanTask

The SyncServiceNowToOnePlanTask strategy will bring in items listed within the ServiceNow table as Tasks in OnePlan. There must be a field called "Project Number" in ServiceNow on the task level. This field must map to the parent object's ID. The integration will attempt to find the parent plan based on this field and sync the tasks in that plan.

 

SyncServiceNowToOnePlanResource

The SyncServiceNowToOnePlanResource strategy brings in resources from ServiceNow into OnePlan.
