This article explains how to use the Columns interface to add or remove columns in the Portfolio Modeler List view, so you can focus on the information that matters most while evaluating scenarios.
What you will accomplish
By the end of this article, you will be able to:
- Add columns to your model List view
- Remove columns you don’t need
- Surface key decision‑support information, such as plan dependencies
Open the Columns interface
- Open your model.
- Switch to List view.
- Select Columns in the top toolbar.
The Select Columns panel opens, showing all available fields you can add to the model view.
Add a column to the List view

Highlighted column: Dependencies
What this column shows
The Dependencies column displays cross‑plan dependencies directly in the model List view. This allows you to see how work items are connected while evaluating scenarios.
Why this is important
Adding the Plan Dependencies column helps you:
-
See cross‑plan impacts
Understand which work is connected while comparing options. -
Improve sequencing decisions
Identify what must happen first so you can build more realistic roadmaps. -
Reduce downstream risk
Avoid committing scenarios that ignore critical dependencies.
When to use this column
Use the Dependencies column when you are:
- Evaluating scenarios with sequencing or timing sensitivity
- Reviewing roadmap feasibility
- Comparing scenarios that include interdependent work
Tip: This column is especially useful when reviewing IN / OUT decisions during scenario analysis.
Next steps
Now that you know how to customize your model List view, you may want to:
-
Build or refine scenarios
Learn how scenarios work and how to create versions of your model for comparison. -
Evaluate scenario tradeoffs
Use analysis tools to compare scenarios and understand impacts across resources, finances, and priorities. -
Turn your decisions into execution
Learn what happens when you commit a scenario and how it affects live plans. - Save and reuse your view setup
