This article explains how to configure and manage the Financial Plan calendar. Financial Plan calendar settings determine how calendars are formatted and applied across your Financial Plans.
Out of the box, OnePlan supports traditional 12‑month (January–December) calendars and 12‑month fiscal calendars. OnePlan also supports custom fiscal periods. See Financial Plan – Configure Custom Fiscal Periods for configuration instructions.
What you will accomplish
By the end of this article, you will be able to configure your Financial Plan calendar to meet the needs of your organization.
Requirements
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- A OnePlan account with Administrator permissions
- The Financial Plan module enabled
Background
Financial Plan calendars determine how costs are time‑phased, rolled up, compared, and reported across plans and portfolios. If a 12‑month or custom fiscal calendar is misconfigured, financial data can fall into the wrong periods—leading to inaccurate budgets, misleading forecasts, and incorrect portfolio rollups.
Always configure financial calendars to match your organization’s fiscal year and reporting structure before entering or reporting on financial data.
Instructions
Access the Financial Plan Calendar Settings
- Click ⚙️ to access the backend configuration.
- Go to Financial Plan > Calendars.
Configure a Standard 12-Month Calendar
By default, the Financial Plan will use a Standard calendar, running from January to December.
Here is an example of the Financial Plan with the Standard calendar applied.
Configure a 12-Month Fiscal Calendar
If your organization uses a fiscal year that does not begin in January, you can configure a simple 12‑month fiscal calendar:
- In the Calendar Type menu, select Fiscal Calendar.
- In the Start Month menu, select the month that your fiscal year begins (e.g. April).
Here is an example of the Financial Plan with a fiscal calendar starting in April.
