Release Summary

This release brings deeper planning precision to Work Plan, Financial Plan, Resource Plan, and Project Connector. Dashboards expand with new visualization options like Treemap, along with enhanced Card, Table, Gauge, and Heatmap widgets, giving teams richer ways to explore their data. Automations gain broader trigger support and clearer approval tracking, while performance improvements across schedules, work plan saves, and OData access help teams move faster. A new near real-time Azure DevOps integration keeps connected systems continuously aligned, and a modernized Resource Center rounds out a release focused on precision, speed, and visibility.

Work Plan

Summary: Work Plan enhancements give teams deeper control with expanded bulk assignment support and making it easier to see the full picture of resource usage.

Resource Usage View

• Visibility Across Work Items: See work assignments at the time interval that matters most, across all work items in the plan.
• Better Capacity Insight: Understand how resource time is distributed to support more informed planning decisions.

Bulk Assign Material and Cost Resources

• Expanded Resource Types: Material and cost resources are now included in the assign resources pane.
• Drag-and-Drop Simplicity: Drag and drop material and cost resources onto any work item, just as with work resources, for faster assignment.

Project Connector

Summary: Scheduling data now flows between Microsoft Project and OnePlan with greater depth and precision, giving teams more complete visibility into costs, constraints, and dependencies across both platforms.

Resource Cost Table Synchronization

• Cost Visibility: Organizations can now synchronize OnePlan’s resource-level cost table with Microsoft Project, giving better accuracy when calculating cost.
• Flexible Control: This sync can be enabled on a per-file basis, so teams choose exactly which project files include cost table synchronization.

Task Constraint Type and Date Sync

• Aligned Scheduling Rules: Task-level constraint types and dates now sync from Microsoft Project to OnePlan, keeping scheduling logic consistent across both platforms.
• Reduced Manual Work: Teams no longer need to manually re-enter constraint information in OnePlan after building it out in Microsoft Project.

Dependency Sync Enhancements

• Preserved Relationships: External dependencies are now preserved in OnePlan when syncing from Microsoft Project, maintaining the full picture of how tasks relate across projects.
• Stronger Cross-Project Alignment: This helps teams manage interdependent schedules with greater confidence when multiple projects are linked together.

Plan Details

Summary: Plan Details now support dedicated pages for more targeted data consumption, and rollup field updates deliver related plan data more quickly, improving the experience for large, complex datasets.

Dedicated Plan Detail Pages

• Multiple Plan Details Pages: Create multiple pages within Plan Details to organize and present fields for focused consumption.
• Support for Large Datasets: Improves the experience for plans with extensive data by letting users view exactly what’s relevant.

Plan Rollup Field Performance

• Faster Data Delivery: Plan Rollup Fields update quickly when changes are made to related plans, keeping data current across the portfolio.

Dashboards

Summary: Dashboards now offer new ways to visualize and interact with portfolio, plan, and resource data. Widgets support more field types, new visualization options, and deeper customization, giving teams a clearer, more flexible view of what matters most across their portfolios.

New Treemap

• New Visualization Option: A new Treemap widget is now available for Portfolio, Plan, Global Resource Plan, and Modeler dashboards, giving teams a compact, proportional view of their data.
• Flexible Data Support: The Treemap widget supports resource plan, financial, and plan-level data, making it suitable for a range of reporting needs.

New Resource Capacity Data Source

• New Data Source: A new resource capacity data source is now available at the Portfolio, Plan, and Global Resource Plan levels, giving teams more visibility into resource availability for planning.

Card Enhancements

• Expanded Field Support: Card widgets now support choice, lookup, and text type fields, giving teams more flexibility in the data they choose to surface.
• Field-Level Coloring: Individual fields on a card supports color coding based on field definition, making key information easier to scan at a glance.

Table - Gantt View Enhancement

• Timeline Visualization: The table widget now includes a Gantt view, letting teams visualize schedules in dashboards.
• Configurable Fields: Start, end, and progress fields can each be set independently, so the Gantt view reflects exactly the timeline data that matters.

Gauge Enhancements

• New Aggregate Functions: Additional aggregate function options give teams more ways to summarize and present key metrics.

Heatmap Enhancements

• Flexible Sorting: Heatmaps can now be sorted by values on both the X and Y axes, making patterns and priorities easier to identify.
• Updated Color Palettes: New color palette options allow teams to tailor heatmaps to their preferred visual style.

Lookup Field Support

• Broader Dashboard Support: Lookup fields are now supported across Portfolio, Plan, and Modeler dashboards, giving teams more flexibility in the data they can bring into their views.

Dashboard Template Library

• Ready-Made Templates: A new library of downloadable templates for standard dashboards gives organizations a fast, consistent starting point for reporting and visibility across their portfolio.
• Full Customization: Once imported, dashboards can be edited and configured to match each organization's specific requirements, combining speed of setup with flexibility.

Financial Plan

Summary: Financial Plan updates bring material and cost resources into the import process, add a rollup view for comparing related plans, and refine the viewing experience to keep users focused on what matters most to their plan.

Resource Import Enhancements

Focused View Experience

Financial Plan Administration in Front End

• Front-End Access: Administration is now available directly from the front end while working in the Financial Plan, removing the need to navigate to separate administration areas.

Resource Plan

Automations

Summary: Automations expand with broader backup coverage, a streamlined path from Plan notifications, and tighter tracking of approval activity, giving teams more complete oversight and less manual upkeep.

Automation Backup

• Global and Plan Automations Included: The OnePlan Backup Utility now captures Global and Plan automations based on your backup selection, ensuring a more complete backup of your organization’s automation configurations.

Plan Notifications to Automations Upgrade

• Streamlined Automation Path: Plan notifications are upgraded to Automations, consolidating notification logic into a single, more powerful automation framework.
• No Action Required: The upgrade happens automatically, with no setup or migration work needed on your part.

Work Item Summary-Level Triggers, Filters and Notifications

• Broader Trigger and Filter Support: Plan automations can now be initiated by triggers at the work item summary level, not just detail-level items.
• More Automation Coverage: Teams can automate a wider range of scenarios across the structure of their work items.

Automation Approval Notes in Work Item Comments

• Notes Tracked at the Source: Automation approval notes are now logged directly in the specific approval work item comments where the outcome is recorded, keeping decision context in one place.

Performance Enhancements

Summary: OnePlan now delivers a faster, more responsive experience across core planning activities. Teams can save work plan items, including backlog entries and tasks, more quickly, with the same speed benefits extending to any integration that adds or updates them. Schedules open and save more quickly as well, helping teams move through their plans without interruption.

OData Performance

• Faster Data Access: OData endpoint performance has been enhanced, giving connected systems quicker access to OnePlan data.
• Smoother Integrations: Organizations relying on OData for reporting or integrations benefit from more responsive data retrieval.

Azure DevOps Integration

Summary: Organizations connecting OnePlan with Azure DevOps can now keep both systems continuously aligned, with updates flowing automatically from Azure DevOps to OnePlan and flexible controls to manage how that connection is applied across the portfolio using our new near real-time update feature.
