Timesheet Dashboards bring native reporting directly into the OnePlan Timesheets experience. They provide both global and personal dashboards that give faster visibility into time tracking trends, compliance, and workload patterns—without relying on external reporting tools.
What you will accomplish
After completing this guide, you will understand how Timesheet Dashboards work and how to configure them at a high level to gain visibility into time tracking trends, compliance, and workload patterns.
Requirements
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- Licensed access to OnePlan (Team Member permissions or higher)
- The Time Plan app installed in OnePlan
- The Dashboards app installed in OnePlan
- At least one open timesheet period configured
Background
OnePlan includes native reporting dashboards that live directly inside the product. These built-in dashboards provide real-time visibility without the need for third-party reporting tools.
Timesheet Dashboards are embedded directly within the Timesheets module and are designed specifically for analyzing time entry data. They use only your timesheet data and are available wherever timesheets are used, making it easy to review trends and patterns in context.
Important Notes
Keep the following in mind when using Timesheet Dashboards:
-
Global and personal dashboards
Both global dashboards (shared across the organization) and personal dashboards (owned by an individual) are supported. -
Timesheet data only
Timesheet Dashboards use only timesheet data. No external or additional data sources are required. -
Date slicer included
A Date slicer is always included, allowing you to analyze different time periods easily. -
Review any time period (including locked)
Dashboards can display data from past periods, even if those periods are locked. This supports audits, trend analysis, and planning. -
Approver and delegate visibility
Timesheet approvers and delegates can view dashboard insights for the users they support, based on their approval or delegation access.
Set up a Timesheet Dashboard
Timesheet Dashboards are configured using the same dashboard framework as other OnePlan reporting dashboards. The key difference is that Timesheet Dashboards automatically use timesheet data, so no data source selection is required.
This section provides a high-level overview. For step-by-step instructions, refer to the linked articles.
Create a Dashboard Tab
Start by creating a reporting dashboard tab in the Timesheets area. This tab acts as the container for your timesheet reporting visuals.
For detailed instructions, see:
➡️ How to Create a Reporting Dashboard Tab in OnePlan
Add Widgets to the Dashboard
Once the dashboard tab is created, add widgets to visualize your timesheet data. The following widget types are available in Timesheets:
- Chart widgets
- Pivot widgets
- Card widgets
Because Timesheet Dashboards use timesheet data automatically, no data source selection is needed when adding widgets.

Explore Your Dashboard
Use the Date slicer and available filters to explore your timesheet data across different periods. Dashboards help you:
- Identify time tracking trends over time
- Monitor submission and approval compliance
- Understand workload distribution across users or teams
All insights are available directly within OnePlan, without exporting data or switching tools.
