How to Create and Update a Status Report in OnePlan

Direct Answer: Creating and Updating a Status Report

To create a status report in OnePlan for the first time, select Here in the message that appears when you don't yet have a report for the current period — this option only appears if your administrator has enabled Allow Manual Status Report Creation for your Plan Type. Otherwise, wait for OnePlan to generate the report automatically according to the configured schedule. Either way, once a report exists, open it and edit any editable field — such as Status HealthForecast, or Additional Comments — directly on the report. Changes you make on the status report are also reflected in the live plan, so your data stays consistent everywhere.

What This Article Covers: Status Reports

This article explains how to generate your first status report for a plan and how to review and edit a pending report before submitting it.

What you will accomplish
After reading this article, you will be able to create a status report for a plan and update its fields, including using Sofia to help draft multi-line text content.

Before You Begin: Status Reports

  • Status Reports configured for your Plan Type by your OnePlan administrator
  • Access to the plan as the configured Owner
  • See How to Access Your Status Reports in OnePlan if you haven't opened a status report before

Why This Matters: Status Reports

Context: One Source of Truth

Because edits made in a status report also update the live plan, you don't end up with two different versions of the same data. Updating your status report is the same as updating your plan.

Context: Reports Reflect Real-Time Plan Data

OnePlan generates each status report from the plan's current data, so you're always starting from an accurate baseline rather than a blank form.

Step-by-Step: Creating and Updating a Status Report in OnePlan

Task: Create a New Status Report

What you see when you don't yet have a status report for the current period depends on whether your administrator has enabled Allow Manual Status Report Creation for your Plan Type:

  • If manual creation is enabled and you don't yet have a report for the current period, OnePlan displays a message stating you don't have a report yet, with a link to create one for the previous period. Select Here to generate the report.

  • If manual creation is not enabledOnePlan displays a message stating that manual status report creation isn't enabled for your Plan Type. In this case, wait for the scheduled report to generate automatically according to the schedule your administrator configured.

Note: Scheduled vs. Manual Creation
Once a status report exists for a plan, additional reports are generated automatically according to the schedule your OnePlan administrator configured. If your administrator has enabled Allow Manual Status Report Creation for your Plan Type, you don't have to wait for that schedule to get a report to work with — see How to Submit a Status Report in OnePlan for creating and submitting one ahead of schedule. Submitting a report you already have works the same way either way — it's only creating a new report early that depends on this setting.

Task: Open a Pending Status Report

In the upper-right corner, use the drop-down to access snapshots of current and historical status reports.

OnePlan generates a status report using the current data in your plan. You can open a pending status report and make modifications before submitting it — any changes you make are also reflected in the plan itself.

Task: Update Status Health

Select into the Status Health field and select the correct value. This update is also reflected in the live plan.

Task: Update Forecast Financial Data

Frequently Asked Questions: Status Reports

Q: Do changes in my status report update the actual plan?
A: Yes. In OnePlan, editable fields on a status report — such as Status HealthForecast, and Additional Comments — also update the corresponding fields on the live plan.

Q: Can I create more than one status report at a time for a plan?
A: No. In OnePlan, a plan has one active pending status report at a time. Once that report is submitted and approved, the next report is generated according to the schedule, or manually ahead of time if your administrator has enabled Allow Manual Status Report Creation for your Plan Type.

Q: Why does OnePlan say manual status report creation isn't enabled for my Plan Type?
A: In OnePlan, this message means your administrator hasn't turned on Allow Manual Status Report Creation for your Plan Type. You'll need to wait for the next scheduled report to generate automatically, or ask your administrator to enable manual creation — see How to Configure Status Report Settings in OnePlan.

Q: What fields can I edit on a status report?
A: In OnePlan, you can edit any field marked as editable on the Status Report form, which is configured by your administrator. Common examples include Status HealthForecast, and Additional Comments.
