Direct Answer: How to View Split Data in OnePlan

To view split data in OnePlan, open a plan’s Plan Details form and enter a Split % for each plan in the associated plans table. To see the split values across plans, group the Portfolio List, Board, or Roadmap by the same Multi Lookup field and add the original field, such as Budget, to the view. When a view is grouped by the Multi Lookup field, it shows each plan’s split value in each group instead of the total.

What This Article Covers: Split Data

This article explains how users enter splits and view split values in OnePlan, including the Plan Details form, the Portfolio List, the Board, and the Roadmap. A split field divides a number or currency value, such as Budget, across the plans selected in a Multi Lookup field.

What you will accomplish By the end of this article, you will be able to enter split percentages on a plan and view the resulting split values in each area of OnePlan.

Before You Begin: Viewing Split Data

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A Multi Lookup field that an administrator has configured with one or more split fields. The field must display as a table in the Plan Details form. If you do not see a Split % column in the associated plans table, or the field displays as a Find Plan picker instead of a table, contact your OnePlan administrator.
  • Permission to edit the plan you want to split
  • At least one plan associated through the Multi Lookup field

Why This Matters: Split Data in OnePlan

Context: Seeing Each Plan’s Share

When a plan is associated with several plans, such as a project that supports several objectives or accounts, its Budget or other values can be divided across them. Split data shows each associated plan’s share of the value, so totals are not counted in full against every plan.

Context: Grouping Shows Split Values

Split values display when a view is grouped by the Multi Lookup field. In an ungrouped view, OnePlan shows the plan’s total value. In a grouped view, the same plan appears once in each group, with that group’s share of the value.

Step-by-Step: Viewing Split Data in OnePlan

Task: Enter Splits in the Plan Details Form

Starting from the plan you want to split:

  1. Open the plan’s Plan Details form.
  2. In the associated plans table for the Multi Lookup field, select Add Item and select each plan you want to associate. For more detail, see Associate Plans with the Plan Details Form.
  3. In the Split % column, enter the percentage of the value to assign to each associated plan.
  4. Review the Sum at the bottom of the Split % column. The split values for each field, such as Estimated Cost (Split), update as you change the percentages.

Note: The Sum should equal 100%. If it does not, the Sum displays in red as a warning. The split values still calculate from the percentages you entered.

  3. Review the values in each group. Each plan shows its split value within each group, rather than the total.

Frequently Asked Questions: Split Data

Q: Why do I see totals instead of split values in OnePlan? A: In OnePlan, split values display only when the view is grouped by the Multi Lookup field. Group the Portfolio List, Board, or Roadmap by that field to see each plan’s split value.

Q: Which fields can be split in OnePlan? A: In OnePlan, an administrator can split number and currency fields. The split fields are selected when the Multi Lookup field is configured.

Q: What happens if my Split % does not add up to 100% in OnePlan? A: In OnePlan, the Sum in the split table displays in red as a warning. The split values still calculate from the percentages you entered.

Q: Why does the same plan appear more than once in OnePlan? A: In OnePlan, a plan associated with more than one item in a Multi Lookup field appears in each group when the view is grouped by that field. Each appearance shows that group’s share of the value.

Q: Do split values also display in Child Plan Tables in OnePlan? A: Yes. In OnePlan, an existing Child Plan Table that uses a Multi Lookup field with splits displays the original field as a column such as Budget (Split), with the split value. For new setups, use the Multi Lookup table directly in the Plan Details form.
