Welcome to My Enterprise Architecture

Introduction to My Enterprise Architecture

Portfolio demand can come from multiple sources. It can be driven by Ideas, Requests, or even your Strategy. But portfolio demand can also be generated from internal applications you support, products and services you provide, and even process improvement initiatives like value streams.  No matter where the portfolio demand might be coming from, OnePlan has you covered.

Whether you're from an IT department looking at the applications you support, a product manager assessing products, or a functional manager keen on optimizing internal processes, you can leverage OnePlan to capture and manage all that demand in One Plan.

Diverse Plan Elements

To help demonstrate the depth of OnePlan's capabilities, this article illustrates five (5) other plan types: Products, Capabilities, Applications, Value Stream, and Organization.

In this My Enterprise Architecture example, the Products plan type is for product owners, the Capabilities plan type is for capability managers, the Applications plan type is for those managing the application portfolio, Value Streams plan types cater to value stream owners, and Organization plan types are for managers focusing on departmental operational work.

Think of these Plan Types as your keys to understanding and managing non-project work across your enterprise.

Applications Portfolio

A centralized list of applications is essential for rationalization and understanding demands. Let's delve into how OnePlan facilitates this.

For example, to view a list of Application plans that have been added to the My Enterprise Architecture Area, select the Application Summary view from the list dropdown. This view presents a detailed list of applications, associated Business Unit, Lifecycle Stage, functional fit, and budget.

Change the views to look at the Applications from a different perspective.

For instance, here Applications are grouped by Category.

Each Application plan comes with an exhaustive Details page where you can manage metadata like the application stages, application vision, prioritization scoring, and financials.  You can also link associated projects, ideas, and epics to these plan types.

Application Board

The Application Board visualizes applications based on Business Units, Status, dependencies, and functional fit.

Configurable Views

Configurable views let you create varied application matrices.  Mapping your application journey becomes straightforward with this roadmap. Group by category, color code, or edit on the go – the flexibility is immense. In this example, you can visualize the Applications Plan in a Road Map view.

Product Portfolio

OnePlan understands the intricacies of product management. Let's explore.

For example, the Product Summary view details products by category, lifecycle stage, status, and budget.

With easy configurations, you can group by different criteria, like 'Goals', and add fields like 'ROI'. Change the Group By to Goals.
