OnePlan invites you to a sneak preview of our May product release. During the webinar, our team walked you through key highlights of the new release including enhancements, bug fixes, and new feature announcements. Whether you're a long-time user or new to our software, we hope you will join us to learn about all of the areas we've been innovating to make OnePlan more valuable for your organization.

Performance Improvements

Fast Initial Load

  • OnePlan now loads faster than ever before, delivering a seamless user experience.
  • Upon navigating to OnePlan or refreshing your browser, resources are no longer required to be loaded.
  • Previously, resource basic information was loaded and cached, potentially causing slowdowns as more resources were added. This is now a thing of the past.
  • Customers with large numbers of resources will experience the most significant improvement.

Enhanced Resource Plan and Financial Plan Import Efficiency

  • The import job now processes data faster than ever, improving overall efficiency.
  • Able to handle larger datasets with greater speed, facilitating smoother manual imports.
  • Nightly scheduled imports for cost and resource plan types set to auto-import also benefit from the improved efficiency.

Improved Work Plan Table Performance

  • Loading work plan tables is now quicker than ever before.
  • Experience faster data loading when viewing work plan tables in the plan details form or status reports.

Speed Boost for Resource Plan External Import API

  • The resource plan external import API now operates at an increased speed, facilitating faster data imports.
  • This API is utilized across various OneConnect integrations and is adaptable for data migration and customizations.

Portfolio Plan

Flexible and Fast Filters

  • Easily pinpoint the fields you want to filter on, making searching through plans a breeze.
  • Choose between filtering all plan type hierarchy levels for a flat list view or display the hierarchy and filter on the top plan type level selected.
  • Filtered results load swiftly, loading only the selected plans for improved speed. Plus, saved views with filters load faster due to reduced data loading.
  • Seamless integration with existing pre-filters ensures a smooth transition to the enhanced filtering system.
  • The new filters work with the portfolio list, board, and roadmap.

Speed Boost for Plan Type Hierarchies

  • Plan type hierarchies now load significantly faster in the list view.
  • Only the top level of the hierarchy is initially loaded. As you expand each level, it loads dynamically.
  • Unlike before, where all levels are loaded upfront, this incremental loading optimizes performance and speeds up navigation through hierarchies.

Important Update: New Features Rollout Schedule

  • Starting May 4th, 2024, you'll have the option to enable the new portfolio plan features listed above.  If not enabled by November 29th, 2024, you'll be automatically upgraded to the new functionality.  More functionality will be added in the July 2024 release as well.
  • To enable, a OnePlan Owner should navigate to portfolio plan settings, and additional options, and click the "enable" button.  Once enabled, this capability cannot be turned off as new filter and view settings are continuously added.
  • The new filters function differently from the old ones, potentially causing initial user confusion.  Views with filters applied will load in a flat list by default, not a hierarchy.
  • You can switch your view to "filter top level only" to display a hierarchy.  When using the "filter top level only" option, lower-level plans in your hierarchy will not be affected by filters.  If a parent plan is filtered out, its child plans will not show.
  • You can adjust views to simulate hierarchies by changing the view to a lower-level plan type and grouping by the plan type above it.  Once enabled, you can adjust any desired view settings according to your preferences.
  • Using pre-filters can improve the experience as well.  For example, you can create a pre filter to only show "Active" plans and then remove filters from views.  This will load a hierarchical view that only shows active plans.
  • We advise testing this capability in a test or trial group before full implementation.  Prepare for enhanced functionality and ensure a smooth transition with these guidelines.

Streamlined Portfolio List Toolbar

  • Less frequently used advanced options are now tucked under the ellipsis icon.
  • The toolbar is decluttered, providing a cleaner interface focused on common tasks.

Resource Usage Feature Deprecation

  • On May 3, 2024, the Resource Usage view will be removed from the Work Plan. Previously, users could use the Resource Usage view to resource utilization in their plan. OnePlan Authentication

  • Similar to OnePlan, we added the ability to invite users to OneConnect, without requiring them to be added to your company's Office 365/Microsoft Entra ID.
  • You will notice that the login page now matches the one that you are presented by OnePlan:

  • Important
The login form will display regardless of the authentication method selected (Office365 Strict or Multi-Authentication).
  • For new OneConnect groups going forward - The authentication will reflect how the first individual logs in. If using an Office 365 account, we encourage clients to sign in using Microsoft. For users who do not have an Office 365 account, feel free to create an account with us.
  • All existing OneConnect groups will be set to Office 365 Strict - no changes to how users authenticate to OneConnect, clicking Sign in with Microsoft will allow existing users to their OneConnect groups.
  • To alter/update your OneConnect Authentication methods, users will need to opt into this feature.
Please visit the links below to learn more.
  • We do encourage the same authentication methods to be set for both OnePlan and OneConnect. Differing authentication methods can lead to login confusion.
