Direct Answer: Build a Status Report Form in OnePlan
To build a status report form in OnePlan, open Status Report configuration from Setup Mode, select the Form Editor tab, and build the report form using the drag-and-drop editor — the same editor used for the Plan Details form. You can organize the form across multiple Pages and add Sections, Fields (Plan Fields, Report Fields, and Summary Fields), Elements (including Field Sets), and Dashboard Widgets. Once the form is built, an administrator separately enables where it appears in plan navigation — see How to Enable the Reporting - Status Reports Tab in OnePlan.

Why This Matters: Status Report Forms
Context: A Form That Matches How Your Organization Reports
The Status Report form determines what data owners and approvers see and edit during the reporting process. Building sections and choosing fields deliberately keeps the report focused on the information that matters to your organization’s governance process.
Context: One Editor for Plan Details and Status Reports
The Status Report Form Editor uses the same drag-and-drop editor as the Plan Details form, so administrators familiar with configuring Plan Details forms — including sections, fields, and elements — can apply the same skills here. This article summarizes each shared task and links to the Plan Details article with the full steps.
Context: Pages in Status Report Forms
Status Report forms can be split across multiple Pages, which display as tabs at the top of the form. Each page has its own independent layout of sections, fields, and elements, so you can group related information instead of building one long scrolling report, for example one page each for executives, sponsors, and delivery teams. Every Status Report form starts with a default Overview page, and existing forms are not converted or reorganized — all existing content remains on the Overview page. Each page can be exported on its own.
Context: Design Versioning
OnePlan saves a version of the Status Report design when a report is submitted after the design has changed. Submitted reports keep the design they were created with, so you can update the form at any time without altering past submissions. Changes you make to a Status Report form apply to reports going forward.
Step-by-Step: Configuring a Status Report Form in OnePlan
Task: Open the Form Editor
- Expand the left navigation, select Setup to enter Setup Mode, then select the Edit (pencil) icon next to Status Reports.
- Select the Plan Type you want to configure.
- Select the Form Editor tab.
Task: Copy an Existing Status Report Form
You can copy an existing Status Report form from another Plan Type to use as a starting point. In the Form Editor, select the Copy icon in the upper right corner, select the Plan Type to copy from, select Yes to confirm, then select Save. Copying a Status Report form overwrites any configuration you have already done for the current Plan Type. The steps are the same as for Plan Details forms — see How to Copy a Plan Details Form in OnePlan.
Task: Add and Arrange Form Sections
Sections make up the main layout of the Status Report form. To add a section, select Content, go to the Sections tab, drag a section layout onto the form, and select Save.
Use the ⋮ (kebab) menu in the section header to edit its formatting, or to delete it, and drag the section header to rearrange sections.
The steps are the same as for Plan Details forms — see How to Add and Arrange Sections on a Plan Details Form in OnePlan.
Task: Add a Dashboard Widgets Section
Use a Dashboard Widgets section to display the same charts used in reporting dashboards directly on the Status Report form. Widgets support work item, plan, financial plan, and resource plan data, and the charts are included when the Status Report is exported.
To add the section, select Content, go to the Sections tab, drag the Dashboard Section onto the form, and select Save. Then select the ⋮ (kebab) menu in the section header and select Edit, or select New Widget, to add widgets and choose the data source for each, and select Save.
The steps are the same as for Plan Details forms — see How to Add a Dashboard Widgets Section to a Plan Details Form in OnePlan, and How to Add Widgets to Your OnePlan Reporting Dashboard.
Task: Add Fields to the Status Report Form
Within the form sections, you can place fields that pull data from Plan Fields, Report Fields, and Summary Fields across OnePlan.
- Plan Fields — Independent fields that come directly from the plan. These fields are entered directly and are not dependent on other fields.
- Report Fields — Status report-specific fields, such as report period dates.
- Summary Fields — Aggregate data from the fields below it, like a Rollup (see Plan Fields - Configure Field Calculations for details).
To add a field to the Status Report form, select Content, go to the Elements tab, choose Plan Fields, Report Fields, or Summary Fields from the drop-down, drag the field into a section and column, and select Save. To edit or remove a field, select the pencil or trash can icon next to it.
The steps for adding, editing, and removing fields are the same as for Plan Details forms — see How to Add and Configure Fields on a Plan Details Form in OnePlan.
Multi Lookup fields on a Status Report form have the same Field Settings as on a Plan Details form: Show as Table, Columns, Show Totals (displays column totals for number or currency fields), and Sort.
Task: Create a Form Element
Form elements include tables, child plans, field sets, text, and images. These add additional information to your form to improve the reporting experience. Once created, elements function the same as fields in the Form Editor.
To create an element, select Content, go to the Elements tab, choose the element type, select New, complete the Add [Element] form, and select Add. Then drag the element onto the form and select Save. Table and Child Plans elements include a Show Totals option, which displays column totals for number or currency fields.
The Table, Child Plans, Image, and Text elements work the same way as in Plan Details forms — see How to Add Tables and Other Elements to a Plan Details Form in OnePlan. Field Sets are specific to Status Report forms:
Add Field Set - Name — Enter a name for the field set. - Fields — Select the fields to include in the field set. - Display — Choose whether the field set displays as a Table or as a Card.
A Field Set groups related fields into a single form element. Status Reports display field sets the same way dashboards do, which keeps the layout familiar across reporting views.
Task: Organize the Form into Pages
Use Pages (displayed as tabs above the form layout) to split a Status Report form into multiple independent layouts.
In the Form Editor, select the page tab drop-down and select Manage pages to add, rename, reorder, or delete pages. The default Overview page cannot be deleted. Each page can be exported on its own.
The steps are the same as for Plan Details forms — see How to Organize a Plan Details Form into Pages in OnePlan.
Task: Save Your Changes
Select Save in the bottom right corner when you’re done. Select the X in the top right corner to close the panel, then select Done at the bottom of the left navigation to exit Setup Mode.
Frequently Asked Questions: Status Report Forms
Q: Do I need to configure the schedule before building the Status Report form? A: In OnePlan, you should install and configure the schedule for a Plan Type before building its form, since the form is configured per Plan Type. See How to Set the Status Report Schedule and Behavior in OnePlan.
Q: What is the difference between Plan Fields, Report Fields, and Summary Fields? A: In OnePlan, Plan Fields pull data directly from the plan, Report Fields are status report-specific fields such as report period dates, and Summary Fields are used to summarize report data on the form.
Q: Once I build the form, where does it appear to plan owners and approvers? A: In OnePlan, a built form only appears in plan navigation once an administrator enables the Reporting - Status Reports tab on the applicable process steps — see How to Enable the Reporting - Status Reports Tab in OnePlan.
Q: How do I add a new tab to a Status Report form? A: In OnePlan, open the Form Editor for the Plan Type, select the page drop-down, choose Manage pages, enter a name in the New page name field, and select Add Page. The new page appears as a tab with its own sections, fields, and elements.
Q: Can I add charts to a Status Report form? A: In OnePlan, yes. Add a Dashboard Widgets section from the Sections tab of the Content panel, then choose the widgets to display. The charts are included when the Status Report is exported.

Q: What happens to submitted status reports when I change the form design in OnePlan? A: In OnePlan, submitted reports keep the design they were created with. A new version of the design is saved when a report is submitted after the design has changed, so you can update the form at any time without altering past submissions.
Q: What happened to my existing Status Report form when Pages was introduced? A: In OnePlan, existing forms were not changed. All existing sections, fields, and elements remain on the default Overview page, with no conversion required.
Q: Can I delete the Overview page? A: No. In OnePlan, the Overview page is the default page on every Status Report form and cannot be deleted, though its name and icon can be edited from the Manage pages dialog.
